WILLS, POA & PERSONAL DIRECTIVE

Wills

The Will is a key document of any Estate plan. The will or testament is a legal document by which a person, the testator, expresses their wishes as to how their property is to be distributed at death and names one or more persons, the executor, to manage the estate until its final distribution.

We can help you draft a Will from scratch or to modify, alter and amend your already existing will. without a Will you risk a chance to decide how your assets are distributed. Talk to our Lawyer and get it done with your Estate planning for better peace of mind.

Enduring Power of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney is a signed and witnessed document that gives another person authority to deal with property and accounts on your behalf in your absence or challenging medical conditions. In failure of providing an enduring power of attorney, your accounts could be frozen. An enduring power of attorney must be made when you are enjoying a sound mental health.

Personal Directives

Alberta doesn’t have living wills but instead have personal directives. If you suffer a serious injury or illness, you may not be able to make decisions. If you have a personal directive, the person(s) you have picked to be your agent would have legal authority to make personal decisions on your behalf.
